The name of the Society is

VANCOUVER ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY POLICING CENTRE SOCIETY

The purposes of the Society are:

• To reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal people in at-risk and criminal circumstances, especially the most vulnerable persons.
• To build community support and participation for community policing and safety issues.

Through

• Offering advocacy, victim assistance, referrals, education, awareness, and culturally relevant programs that promote crime prevention and safety.
• Following an Aboriginal code of ethics in all decisions affecting the society.
• Establishing culturally sensitive prevention and diversion programs.
• Enhancing related community services and resources by building partnerships with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organizations and services that complement the overall goals of the society.
• Fundraising and securing resources through all levels of government, the private sector, and foundations, to maintain, improve and enhance programming.
• Acting as a liaison with law enforcement agencies and professionals within the criminal justice system

And replace the deleted purposes with the following:

The purposes of the Society are:

1. To benefit the community by addressing the needs of Indigenous peoples in Canada in overcoming racism, poverty, food insecurity, crime, and trauma by providing culturally appropriate wellness programs.
2. To benefit the community by acting as a liaison between Indigenous groups and law enforcement, legal, and public safety
3. To relieve poverty by distributing food and basic amenities to people in need.
4. To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above-mentioned charitable purposes.
