Community Policing

The Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre is one of ten Community Policing Centres in Vancouver. All centres are uniquely positioned to meet the specific needs of their community by utilizing their own knowledge and communication with their community in combination with the strong partnership with the Vancouver Police Department. Unlike community policing centres is other cities, the centres are not satellite police stations, but are actually operated, staffed and governed by members of the community.

VACPC is proud to work in partnership with the VPD and all the Community Policing Centres. To build these relationships, VACPC participates in:

  • Meetings held to collaborate, plan, and share successes and challenges
  • Joint activities held to offer volunteer training, crime-prevention strategies and community engagement
  • Yearly CPC day held to promote awareness of CPC’s
  • CPC policy and procedure development
